Generating typography
Daniel Maarleveld is a graphic and motion designer based in Amsterdam. Since 2007 he has been running an independent practice, with a strong interest in generative design and kinetic typography. His work is an endless quest for unexplored possibilities of natural and mathematical principles. Recently, his practice has shifted more towards code-based motion design. In addition to his design practice, he taught at the Saturday course of the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, and typography at the ArtEZ University of the Arts in Arnhem.

“Time is form, form is time.”
A Lecture highlighting DIA’s “input output” approach to approach highlighting the thinking and process behind kinetic identity design. The lecture will showcase how Mitch’s background as a jazz pianist, composer and performer has developed a framework for DIA’s design process, collaborations and business model with partner Meg Donohoe. Additionally, the lecture will cover the influence of new tools and technologies in DIA’s design practice.
Mitch Paone is a partner and creative director of New York & Geneva based creative agency DIA Studio, which specializes in corporate and cultural visual identity systems, graphic design, and typography.
